2 days ago, there was a tweet on Twitter that captured my attention since it came from Nick Roach (the creator of Elegant Themes – one of my favorite theme clubs).
Based on this tweet, Nick is going to change the 3 years old look of his website to a newer, better and more attractive design. You can look at some of his concepts on dribble.
Personally, I love to see this change sooner since the old look has been there for 3 years. It looks good, but it can be much better. Nick has created more than 76 premium WordPress themes, he definitely knew how to rock the homepage. Sadly, he didn’t. I hope to see some chances, and now they are really happening. (Awesome!)
How will he rock his homepage? We don’t know yet. So I just want to make some predictions about the new design
1. Cleaner
The old theme, look here, is a litlle bit crowded with words. I hope Nick will clean everything up. Perhaps, he’ll increase the white spaces or use larger fonts. Sure, he didn’t want people to keep their nose right on the screen to look for more informations about Elegant Themes.
2. Emphasize features
He has already done it in the past with some bullet points like Cross-browser compatibility guaranteed or Frequent theme additions and upgrades, but Elegant Themes doesn’t stop at that.
They are now responsive, they have killer design, an ePanl options with tons of control over the fonts, the layouts, the colors… Nick will list these great features for sure. Maybe, he’ll add some illustration to make the whole page look more attractive.
3. Stronger and Bigger Call-To-Action Buttons
Bigger buttons will grab the attention of visitors immediately. The current buttons are small, so people’s eyes won’t go there. And no, it’s not my own words. It based on a case study where bigger buttons contribute to 30% of revenue increase and increase Newegg.com conversion rate by 6%.
I love to see buttons for Gallery, Theme Demo and Pricing Page
4. Focus on the Price
What does Elegant Themes have? A killer $39 price for more than 76+ premium WordPress themes. It’s great. It’s a huge deal. Nick will definitely focus on this feature. Come on, can you find such a great price (only $0.5 per theme and you can get 24 more new themes every year) like this in this expensive world?
Maybe Nick will increase his price after this update, we don’t know yet. But I am quite sure that with this huge value, Nick is going to change his pricing strategy soon. However, it won’t affect me since I have already been an existing member of Elegant Themes. I only have to pay $39 per year. So, grab Elegant Themes now, when it’s still cheap and affordable.
Get Elegant Themes now5. Admin Demo
The most challenging problem with both free and premium WordPress themes is that you don’t know how to configure everything to look exactly like the demo page since most of the providers don’t offer any solution for that. It creates several problems, you can read an article here on WPLiving about this issue.
I have faced some cases where the demo site looks great with tons of features. However, when I purchased and downloaded the theme, I didn’t know to to make them look like the demo. There are tons of works you must do to style up your theme.
Elegant Themes does have colors and fonts picker on demo site, but it isn’t enough. Customers desire more. Hope to see an admin demo option in the new design of Elegant Themes too
6. Responsive design
Nick has added some responsive themes in recent months and turned some of his old themes into responsive designs too. Why don’t we expect for a responsive design for homepage?
If it’s true, it’ll be a good move for Elegant Themes since people are making faster decision with their mobile devices.
Final words
These are just my prediction. Whether they become true or not, Elegant Themes is still my best choice for WordPress themes providers. Don’t know why?
